Our week-long tours give you a true taste of Adriatic island life. The Dalmatian coast is one of nature’s most beautiful spots, with crystal clear seas, plenty of sunshine, and a rich cultural heritage. You’ll paddle by medieval walled cities and uninhabited islands. You’ll cycle past Renaissance villas set in Tuscan-like landscapes. You’ll hike a trail, scented with wild lavender and rosemary, to a hilltop fortress or ancient monastery. Mainly, you’ll enjoy the laid-back atmosphere, simple lifestyle, and warm climate the islands are noted for. Although sea kayaking is our primary activity, no previous kayaking experience is necessary. Each tour begins with kayak training and paddling technique in shallow, protected water. Tours are highly flexible; pace and activities are determined by the group; and each tour is unique and customized. Tours are designed to take advantage of the best that the Dubrovnik region has to offer and to protect its natural environment. Additional activities include biking, hiking, tennis, beach volley ball, cliff jumping, snorkeling, diving, wind surfing, white water rafting, sight seeing and cultural excursions.

Typical Day

A typical day includes a morning activity (2-4 hours) and an afternoon activity (2-4 hours) separated by a relaxed midday meal and siesta. Activities (kayaking, cycling, hiking) are pursued at a leisurely pace, for example, kayaking breaks to snorkle, swim, cliff jump, or enjoy a secluded beach are taken at will. The southern Dalmatian islands are numerous, close to the mainland and serviced by regular ferry, so daily schedules, routes and distances are easily customized for individual preferences and needs.There is free time away from the group during the afternoon siesta and in the evenings. Alone or as part of the group, you can enjoy simple island villages and beautiful hiking trails, jump off cliffs into the sea, explore hidden coves, or relax with a good book.Maps and both Simple and Detailed Itineraries are available on the web site.

Age range, type of group

Tours accommodate both beginners and experienced kayakers and are led by trained guides. The Island Hopping Tour, in particular, is perfect for families. Young children may share a double kayak with a parent. The Vis Island: Outer Limits Tour is best for experienced sea kayakers. Groups size is small-typically 8 kayakers per guide.Families and organized groups (couples, travel mates, students, etc.) are welcome and encouraged. We offer both single and tandem (double) kayaks. Tandem kayaks allow small children or less enthusiatic paddlers to enjoy the activities and scenery with minimal physical effort.

Sleeping and meals

Accommodations are rooms in privately owned guest houses in small villages on the islands. They are chosen for their local character and convenient locations. Rooms are typically simple, comfortable, and clean, with private bathrooms, bed linens, towels, and refrigerators. Many rooms have kitchens, but do not have phones, TVs, or Internet access. Food is one of the highlights! The cuisine is Croatian Mediterranean and features fresh seafood, Dalmatian hams and cheeses, garden-grown fruits and vegetables and superb Croatian beer and wine. Lunches are either beach picnics or at local island restaurants. Dinners are long and relaxed sit-down meals, either a barbecue or at an island restaurant- the perfect way to end an active day. Breakfast is is self-serve at the guest house.A camping option is available on some tours. Our campsites are registered campgrounds with indoor bathroom and shower facilities. We choose campgrounds for their privacy and location - proximity to the sea and our guest house. EMS Northstar mountaineering tents are provided; pads and sleeping bags are available for an additional fee. Campers begin their day by biking or kayaking to the tour's guest house for breakfast. Evenings feature dinners at local restaurants.

Other Information

Additional Services: Fully customized tours are available for groups of 6 or more. We offer guesthouse accommodations in Dubrovnik before of after tours. Extended tour options include cultural excursions to Mostar and Sarajevo in Bosnia and white water rafting in Montenegro. Optional sports activities include diving (if licensed), wind surfing, white-water rafting, and horse-back riding. The above optional activities and cultural excursions have an additional per person cost.

Discounts Offered

Group and Family Discounts: Families of 4 of more receive a 20% discount. Groups of 6 or more receive a 5% per person discount.
