The Marlin Del Rey is a 66 foot sailing catamaran that has no match for size, comfort or service. Capable of reaching speeds of 25 knots under sail, the Marlin Del Rey has the power to travel farther and faster than any other boat in Central America. A forty foot beam provides stability and space for you and your family to enjoy the Costa Rican sunshine.The Marlin Del Rey is registered for 85 passengers. We can host a very special wedding at sea for all your friends and family.
Marlin Del Rey offers daily sailing charters from Tamarindo Costa Rica. Silently glide along Costa Rica’s Gold Coast while passing some of Guanacaste’s exotic bays, white sand beaches, tropical jungles and rain forest. Enjoy a cold tropical drink prepared and served to you by our bilingual staff. Gaze off the bow with a cold tropical drink prepared and served by our bilingual staff as you scan the seas for dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish or even a breaching whale. Stop in a tranquil bay, drop anchor and frolic in the blue Pacific. Kayak through sea caves, float on a raft, snorkel in the bay or run down the deserted white sand beach while the ever helpful crew prepares a feast of fruit, chips, dips, ceviche and salad.

After frolicking in the secluded bay, the crew hoists the sails and the Marlin Del Rey skims quietly across the surface of the pacific passing Playa Flamingo, Playa Conchal, Bahia Amore, Bahia de Las Pirates, Playa Grande and finally Tamarindo Beach. Feel the wind in your hair and the sun on your face as you prepare to witness one of the great joys of Costa Rica….an enchanting Tamarindo sunset.

Our tours include a Tamarindo snorkel adventure, kayaking, diving, fishing or just plain relaxing with an open bar and ample snacks.

“Antares” is a unique and wonderful well kept 80’ steel hybrid schooner designed by Sparkman and Stephens of America’s Cup fame. “Shark” is our new twin engine, smooth running 20 foot all aluminum runabout and is a hybrid of Australian and South African design. Shark is used for fishing, diving, and all excursions. We specialize in all types of diving/snorkeling, fishing, surfing, or just plain walks in the rain forests to see fascinating wild animals and beautiful plant life. Antares will sleep 8 guests on extended expeditions. We have good bathroom and showers, water-makers with 1,500 gallons fresh holding capacity. Range is global - no restrictions. We have maxed out navigation aids, all safety features including EPRIB and SONAR. Cruise speed under power is 8 knots, but will do 13 knots under sail which we prefer and encourage participation in running the vessel if you wish, but not mandatory.
All islands on the Pacific side of Panama, Cocos and Cano Islands off the coast of Costa Rica, and Mapelo located in a territory of Colombia. Expeditions can also be customized to suit each party. We specialize in visits to the Panamanian Darien Jungle rainforest to visit with the wild Cuna Indians near the Colombian border. The Las Perlas (Pearl) Islands, Ladrones (Thieves) Island, Coiba Island, Secas (Dry) Islands, Contreras Islands, Cocos (Coconut) and Cano (White) Islands are also fantastic destinations.
