The Institute is the only adult ESL school to offer FREE, weekly Friday activities in conjunction with its English programme. Students may choose from over 120 activities, anything from skiing lessons to horseback trails, golf to scuba diving lessons, camping to computer classes, and tours to Victoria and Whistler. Everything is included: transport, lessons, tours, equipment, entrance fees and, in some cases, meals too. Individually these can cost over $100 each at other schools. One-to-One Homestays (16-75 years):

We offer full-time (30hours/week)and half-time (15 hours/week) English conversational and Business English (includingTOEIC) courses for adults (17 years and over).

Students attending half-time classes, mornings or afternoons, are able to choose one activity every Friday for free. Full-time students may choose two free activities.

The Institute offers 8 levels of English with a maximum of 12 students per class. At any one time, there are students from 12 to 16 countries. However, we have a strict English-only policy so that students may develop their English skills to the maximum. Our classes are very interactive and focus largely on improving speaking and listening skills, although reading and writing exercises are also included.

Places of Interest
Cusco is the former Capital of the Incas, so it is a good place to visit. The city is surrounded by archaeological remains.
Shopping for local handicrafts and souvenirs can be one of the most enjoyable experiences in Cusco. The city is full of shops and vendors ply their wares on the streets as well.
The nightlife in Cusco is really unique. Seven days a week, discos, pubs, wood-oven pizzerias, cafes, and restaurants around the Main Square are the centre of Cusco?s nightlife, an unforgettable experience for people from all over the world.Internships and Work Experience
Students have the opportunity of working in a Peruvian social organisation as volunteer collaborators, making their own contribution and gaining first-hand experience of the social and cultural problems of the Third World. Institutions include childrens hospitals, special schools for children with mental deficiency, day care centres, orphanages, hospitals, street children projects, deaf childrens school, hotels. Students must be creative, willing to help, caring and adaptable in dealing with children from poor social groups. Most institutions require students to work from Monday to Friday, full or part-time and preferably for a minimum period of one month.
Skills in high demand include: Physiotherapy, Pedagogy, Language Problems, Occupational Therapy, Hand work and Workshops, Psychology and Psychotherapy, Medicine and Nursing, Gardening and Vegetable Farming.

Lisbon is still a relatively small capital city which makes getting around on foot, by bus, tram or metro, quite easy. The city centre, perched on seven hills overlooking the broad expanse of the Tagus Estuary, still retains its earlier charm and tradition. At the beginning of the programme, students are presented with tourist maps and information to help them find their way around the city, the programme of social activities and excursions and a Student's Manual containing information on restaurants and bars, transport, night life and cultural attractions etc.

The school is located in a mixed business and residential area of the city. It is within easy walking distance of the Gulbenkian Foundation, with its priceless art collection, and Edward VII Park, with its cool, verdant walks, botanical gardens and magnificent sweeping vistas over the city and the River Tagus. The prime aim of the Portuguese language programme is to improve the student's communicative skills – speaking and comprehension. For this reason, classes are conducted entirely in Portuguese. However, due attention is also given to grammar, reading and writing skills for which a variety of materials is used – all materials are included in the programme fees. Group classes, averaging 5-6 students, take place three hours each day, Monday to Friday from 10h00 to 13h00. On arrival, students with some prior knowledge of Portuguese take a level test to determine which group they will join – Beginners, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2 or Advanced. At the end of the programme, students receive a certificate indicating the type of course taken and the level of ability reached.

Individual tuition is also available with an emphasis on the spoken forms, grammar and vocabulary. These courses are ideal for students aiming to make progress in the shortest time and for students who wish to have customised, individual lessons to supplement their participation in group classes or for special purposes.

Each Institute offers a wide range of programmes for students wishing to learn or improve their Spanish. There are programmes in General Spanish, Commercial Spanish and Hispanic Studies. You will always learn the language with a background of information about life and attitudes in Spain.

The language courses aim to help students become more confident and correct in the use of modern English. They are designed to develop and consolidate the student's competence in the use of the English Language. The courses emphasise the four core components of successful language use - speaking, listening, writing and reading. Skills in these four areas are developed through the use of materials that focus on the everyday use of the English language.

There are six levels of study to choose from. Beginner, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate and Advanced.

On the first day, the student takes a level test and has a short interview in order to determine placement in the most appropriate class.

These courses are designed for students to develop and improve their English language skills in a stimulating and practical way.
