Previous experience is not required, however, you will need a university degree (bachelors level or greater ) in any discipline to obtain a legal work visa.

General Description:
Every year, students of all ages (16-75 years), and from many countries and professions, attend Eurolingua's numerous language, cultural, special interest and summer programmes worldwide. Students include private individuals, mature teenagers, university and MBA students, teachers, doctors, professional and business people, corporate executives, diplomats and embassy staff, government employees, military personnel and retired people.

One-to-One Homestays (16-75 years):
Live and study abroad for 1 to 4 weeks, on a full-board basis, in the private family residence of a Eurolingua tutor. You benefit from intensive one-to-one, professional language tuition, enjoy local excursions and share usual family social, cultural and leisure activities. Total immersion in the language, culture and way of life is guaranteed. We collect you at and return you to the nearest airport or railway station. Programmes are available all year.

Group Programmes (16-75 years):
You benefit from a minimum of 15 hours (20 lessons) per week tuition in small friendly groups at one of our Institutes, with cultural visits and leisure activities. In order to maintain linguistic and cultural continuity, accommodation is with a selected, local host family. Studio apartments are also available. Open all year, with and special programmes during the summer.

Okazaki (pop.350,000) is a quiet, prosperous, ancient castle town. Some of the temples date from the 8th century and are still is use - there are no ruins. It is home to high-tech industry and traditional crafts. In addition to the Institute, there is a university, two colleges and the national research institutes for biotechnology and molecular science.

The town was the birthplace of Tokugawa Ieyasu who was the first and most powerful SHOGUN. He united the country after 30-40 years of civil war and destruction/decapitation before moving away to form a new capital called Edo - now known as Tokyo. Fortunately, he took his blood-soaked warriors with him and left Okazaki in peace. Even more fortunately, they spread the Mikawa region's dialect to Tokyo where it became the standard form of Japanese. Okazaki is now one of the few low cost locations where the local population speak the standard dialect.

Tokugawa Ieyasu's castle, ancestral temple and highway system etc., remain intact. The city is famous for its cherry blossom festival in spring, especially in the parks and along the tree-lined river where the castle is located. The festivals are ancient and immensely popular. The August fireworks festival is particularly famous and Okazaki makes some 80% of Japan's fireworks!!

The central location of Okazaki is a great advantage, close to all the major attractions such as Kyoto, Nara, Mount Fuji, Suzuka, Takayama, Nagano, the pearl islands at Toba etc., all of which are accessible in a day trip. The Institute is exactly halfway between Tokyo and Osaka, where many of our students head for the weekends.
